Meta – from the Greek μετά, meta, meaning “after” or “beyond” – is a prefix meaning “more comprehensive” or “transcending”. That’s what we want to accomplish with this cultural platform: trespassing conventional art limits.

At Metagraffiti, our project stems from a deep-rooted interest in the intersection of technology and public art. Our endeavor is driven by a desire for creative fulfillment and cultural sharing. Rejecting romanticized notions, we pursue bold expressions of bright rebellion. Our aim is to bridge the gap between the future and the present, leveraging open-source technologies to empower urban expression.

Our fascination lies in the primal human urge for expression, a trait evident since ancient times when our ancestors adorned cave walls. This innate impulse transcends cultural and historical boundaries.

The graffiti art movement, much like the concept of freedom, has long operated in anonymity, echoing the decentralized nature of blockchain technology. This decentralized approach fosters global collaboration and resilience. Anonymous artists, including the renowned Banksy, continually challenge traditional artistic norms, mirroring the disruptive nature of the crypto world's challenge to conventional financial systems.
